July 14, 2021: Chiron Stationary

Chiron is the archetype of the Wounded Healer
and refers to our core wound of abandonment.

In Greek myth, Chiron’s story revolves
around his abandonment
at birth by his mother.

Chiron was born a centaur
– half human, half horse
– much to the horror of his human mother
who had been raped by a centaur.

In spite of his painful beginning,
Chiron grew up to be a wise
and well-respected advisor to Zeus.

In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology,
Chiron is allied with Anubis, also abandoned by his mother.

Anubis holds a dual role
– allied with both the sign Leo and the solar system object Chiron.

His relationship to Leo refers to the need we all have
to be recognized and acknowledged.

As Chiron, Anubis is The Shower of the Way.

Anubis leads the newly deceased into the Underworld and
– if they successfully meet the challenges that await them there
- into the Du’at, the Egyptian home in the stars.

In an astrological chart, the position of Chiron/Anubis

describes our core wound of abandonment.

The process of suffering our wound, identifying its nature,

consciously working with it and

• over time
• releasing our attachment to this wound, delineates our journey from youth to maturity, unconscious victim to compassionate adult.
• This work must be done if we are to move from emotional immaturity into the Sacred Work of our Soul.
  
  Chiron/Anubis turns retrograde on July 15 at 12:41 pm EDT and will remain retrograde until December 19, 2021 During this stationary Chiron period, core wounds are coming up for many.
