Last night (August 22), the Sun moved into the earth sign Virgo,
the sixth sign of the Zodiac and the last stage in the development of personal identity.

Virgo’s job is to prepare the newly integrated individual ego (Leo) for relationship. D

eeply responsible and oriented toward the details, Virgo values purity and right alignment.

In shadow, Virgo can be judgmental, critical, and nit-picking with a tendency
    toward obsession and worry.

In the language of Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Virgo is aligned with the vulture goddess,
    Nekhbet.

Vultures are the purifiers of our planet.

They consume carrion – discarded bodies left decaying on the land.

Their constitution is such that what would poison others is nourishing for them.

This is a deeply shamanic process of transmutation.

The Virgo personality finds strength and purpose through the process of alchemically
    transforming deep wounds into gifts.

Virgo is the path of The Priestess/Priest, the individual whose mission is to discern right action
out of a multiplicity of possibilities.

In traditional astrology, Virgo is the sign most concerned with health, nutrition,
    and the “rightness” of action.

Nekhbet holds the place of The Crone in the Shamanic Egyptian version of the Triple Goddess,
    standing with Nephthys and Isis.

She is the Wise Grandmother who asks “Are you doing what you came here to do?

If not, then go do your personal work.

Discern what it is that needs to be transformed so that you may manifest your Soul’s Purpose.”

Nekhbet is wise and loving, but she is also firm. She and the Cobra Goddess Wadjet
are the Two Ladies of Ancient Egypt.

These powerful Grandmothers were the teachers of the young Pharaoh,
preparing him to become a wise leader of the people.

These two also share their knowledge with us so that we might achieve wisdom
    within our own life experience.

Wadjet breaks through resistance; Nekhbet shows us the path of action in Service.

The Crone Grandmother holds our feet to the fire
    – not in malice but because she loves us.

She wants each of us to fulfill our highest potential, for ourselves but also for our planet.

Gaia cannot make her great leap to the next octave unless each of us do our part.

Amun/Ra (the Sun) remains in the emanation of Nekhbet (Virgo) until September 20.
