My husband found this painting while cleaning his dad's attic.

I looked up the artist and found out that he was a murderer!

It creeps me out, but do you think that it has any value?

Its interesting as the shadow is a man standing over her.
    Its not her shadow.
If you say the artist is a murderer can you expand.
It may have relevance to the painting. You know the workings of the mind.
    Seán O'Mara

    • "We don't know it's a man.
It appears to be a representation of what madness does to a person.
The brain tells the person who they are and what they do,
and it appears the brain is the shadow that the woman is afraid of....

    Case File Report
    By: Mike Arner
The Artist and the Killer 1983
    The Catch
    Think like a criminal
Monday September 8th, Hans Vorhauer was arrested. He is now serving the rest of his sentence, with extra for his escape

Murderer: Hans Vorhauer; accused of 17 contract killings (no evidence), sentenced for an armed robbery charge, "Invisible" to investigators

Lead forensic specialist: Frank Bender; forensic sculptor, using information could reconstruct an unknown victim's remains to a profile

To create a lifelike sculpture of a now 44 year old Vorhauer, Bender had to think, what would he have done, Smoked, drank, used drugs? All of these could have changed the face of an aging man

    A New Blonde?
    Vorhauer Escapes
A realization came to Bender; Vorhauer's father was a Gestapo officer, maybe the Aryan look was what he wanted to become.

    Bender Aids
With the help of inmate Robert Nauss. Vorhauer (age 31) escapes and on the run for 13 years. With an IQ higher than any of the other prisoners, he knew how to stay one step ahead.

Vorhauer had investigators baffled, once they had a lead to his location he vanished. With the biggest question what would he look like 15 years later?

Bender overhearing the conversation looks at potential photographs and an old mug shot "This is the same man".
