Yesterday (August 21), I opened my eyes to Totality.
    It wasn’t what I expected.
It wasn’t black, like a moonless night, but more like dusk or dawn.
    My mind could not compute.
The land around me, that should have been bathed in sunlight, was shrouded in shadows.
I looked up into the sky and saw, to the west of the Sun/Moon, a brilliant Star.

Was this Jupiter? No, it couldn’t be Jupiter – we had just communed with Jupiter, hanging low in the west, the night before.

    Then - what – who?

Oh my Goddess, this was Venus! Venus, who right now is too close to the Sun to be visible, n
ight or day. Venus stepped out of the shadows – or into the shadows to be seen when normally she is hidden.

    This was mind boggling!

I – and many others - have been moving away from an over-reliance on the words “feminine”
and “masculine” to describe qualities of expression. T

here is a way in which using these words as describers feels like being stuck in an ancient collective wounding that has expressed itself through centuries of imbalance, betrayal, abuse and oppression.

While injustice remains, there are now more people who understand gender as a spectrum
describing the relationship between receptivity and action.

It matters not the form – body – that these qualities are expressed through,
but rather that they are in a healthy relationship to each other.

All action must be directed by what it is we want to receive.

A simple concept, yet complicated when we first begin to manifest from this understanding.

Venus – Isis, the Queen Mother of Heaven – revealed out of invisibility,
was like suddenly looking up and meeting the eyes of a stranger,
yet recognizing her as someone I’ve known from – where?

Somewhere I can’t quite place, perhaps not even in this lifetime.

This was deeply moving and I felt an activation, a stirring, deep within my body and soul.

The Great Goddess revealed herself in her most magnificent beauty while the two luminaries of our astrological pantheon – the Sun and the Moon – united in Sacred Union.

The Lunar and The Solar became One, and Isis stepped forth to bless their union
and cast her magic spell upon us all.

Thank you to my tribe at Venus Rising Association for sharing this amazing momen
t at our Dove Mountain Sacred Elemental Temples in western North Carolina.

    We are all Earthlings. Peace.
