Cho q’ij - TRUE JAGUAR - DAILY REPORT - 03 SEP 2014 - Starts New 260 Day Cycle - September 3rd, 2014

The Cho q’ij is a calendar with 260 days or energies:
the 20 days in the Mayan month or winal,
multiplied by the 13 days of the week
(20 x 13 = 260).

The winal arises from the convergence of the 10 cosmic energy currents
and 10 telluric energy currents.

It is also related to the 10 fingers on our hands, which are connected to the cosmos,
together with our 10 toes, which are connected to Mother Earth.

The 13 days of the week arise from 13 main joints in the human body:
2 at the ankles, 2 at the knees, 2 at the hips, 2 at the shoulders, 2 at the elbows,
2 at the wrist and 1 at the neck.

Each of the 20 nawales, or days, in the Cho q’ij is preceded by a number
between 1 and 13, creating a calendar of 260 days.

Once the calendar cycle ends, it repeats again without interruption.

This system of measuring time does not consider the positions of the sun, moon or stars
because it is a dimensional-engery calendar, not an astronomical calendar.

MEANING - Ajpu is overcoming negative energy. It is the victor, the male, the man, the boss, the spiritual warrior, the hunter, Jun Ajpu, and Ixb´alamke, It is the day of Ajaw, the Great Father, and his solar representation, a day of greatness and the strength of life.
It is the power of the great Jun Ajpu and Ixb´alamke, the twin Men-Gods, the mythical figure of creation, the grandsons of the first Grandparents, Ixpiyakok and Ixmukane. The twins went down to Xib´alb´ay, the dwelling place of the Lords of the Underworld (who, according to tradition, hid underground in order to survive the great catastrophe twelve thousand years ago). There the twins passed all of the tests that were set for them, died, and were reborn – an allegory for spiritual awakening. They are the great hunters, accurate and sure, the possessors of great magic, the fathers of fine art, and the teachers of this civilization.
This is a special day for Mayan ceremonies that protect against Wuqu´Qakix (the Seven Sins): pride, ambition, envy, lies, crime, ingratitude, and ignorance. It is the energy of Wuqub´ Ajpu, also known as Ixb´alamke, the nawal of fertility and hunting. Jun Ajpu and Ixb´alamke planted stalks of corn in the patio of Grandmother Ixmucane´s house. If the corn flourished, it meant the twins had survived; if it withered, they had died. Ixmukane performed a ceremony to revive the plants; this is the regenerative power, the cycle of life.
Ajpu governs lunal and solar eclipses and represents the ball game. It brings material and spiritual certainty. It is the realization of the solar body. It is transformation, mutation, and acuity. It is the warrior, the companion, the traveler, the dancer, and the artist, maker of wonders. It is the soothsayer – the diviner and vanquisher of spells – the lord of flowers, master and heir to the power of light.

MEANING - Aq´ab´al is polarity; dusk and dawn, cold and heat. It represents light and dark, two sides
of the same coin, two opposing and harmonious energies. It is sunrise and and sunset.

When the mythical twins passed the tests of darkness and left this world, Jun Ajpu became the Sun
and Ixb´alamke became the Moon.

It means the darkest time of night and the first ray of sunlight.

The duality of this sign is apparent but not extreme.

Who can say exactly when night ends and day begins?

There is always a little light at night and a little darkness during the day.

In the Popol Vuh, the Earth was blanketed in fog and mud after a great cataclysm twelve thousand years ago.


The four B´alameb´ performed various ceremonies to clear the air and get the sun to shine to provide all of its warmth.

These ceremonies were held on Mount Waq´xaqi Aq´ab´al, also known as Hacavitz,
and each Man-God brought his own incense as an offering.

It was the first tribute to the Great Spirit, and they watched the Sun come out. Maq´uq´, the quetzal,
was the first bird to sing.

All of the people and animals bowed down to give thanks for this new dawn,
this new chance of life, this regeneration of creation.

Aq´ab´al is the renewing force, a break from the routine, from monotony; it represents letting go of the reins
and heading in a new direction. All of us undergo chronological, cyclical, and individual changes in our lives
that alter or transform our destiny.

Aq´ab´al is good, strong, sacred day for ceremonies to ask Ajaw, the Great Father, for humility, blessings,
and pardon for our errors, whether conscious or unconscious.

ENERGY - This is the day to ask for clarification regarding our path, to ask for fresh opportunities,
to renew our life, to achieve clarity, to bring light into the darkness, and to reveal mysteries.
It is a good day to ask for stability and to find a good job.

MEANING - K´at is the net, the snare, the problems that entrap us.
This sign is the power to unite the people and elements required to do

our memories, everything we learn, our experiences, and the transcendent moments in life.

It also represents entanglement

– the problems that are our own making or those created by destiny

A net can be thrown into the water to fish, or it can be used to set a trap.

K´at means everyone shapes their own thoughts, either positively or negatively.

The image is one of incense in its wrapper. When we open the offering
with our own hands, we are clearing away the obstacles that prevent us
from succeeding.

It is the spider´s web, rewarding patience.

The lizard that represents this sign, like the pregnant iguana, symbolizes fertility
and longevity. Represented by a fish, it is another sign of abundance relating to the fishing net and symbolizes the rebirth of the mythical twins Jun Ajpu and Ixb´alamke as fish.

K´at is the essence of the fire that consumes.

It is captivity or oppression, the absence of freedom in prisons that can be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. It symbolizes the god of dance.
