    old graveyard

This is a little gem for history buffs.

This tiny burial grounds is on martingrove just south of the westway.

If you look at the stone dated 1845. Wow that's 20 years before the American civil war.

And life was thriving in ETOBICOKE - I think Rexdale is further north of here

All be it, quite a bit different from today. But thriving none the less.

This graveyard is almost unnoticeable sometimes because of overgrowth from all the trees and bushes.

I've tried once to organize a clean up of this sacred site but just as I was looking into it.

I believe it was a historical group, but they just went in and cleaned it up very nicely.

I often stop when I walk past sometimes to offer a prayer and other times am blown away

that this historical site has lasted this long without being moved for the sake of housing.

But it's not big enough to build on. Maybe that's a blessing.

I've heard there are 24 members interned there.

If you've seen how small it is it must be pretty crowded in there.
