Mathematics ... The Dumbing Down Of Our Children ???

The old way of borrowing to subtract is all they need to do math in their head.
I'm an English teacher, but I can add, subtract, multiply, and divide in my head faster than most math teachers
because I use the old tried and true system.

This COMMUNIST Core nonsense just confuses kids, lowers their ability to actually compute, calculate,
and think in a quick and precise manner, and slows them down to keep them at the level to just be able to function enough to do menial tasks and not question things. They are grooming them for the new work force of operating machinery, computers, and such, but not to know enough to question their bosses or understand they are being screwed. The parents don't know it now, so what makes you think the student's will later?

I've sat through all the meetings, the name changes, the hush-hush stuff, the PARCC testing,
how it's all aligned with the SAT test now for college entrance exams.

American education is about to take a nose dive head first into a cesspool
which is why I refuse to teach it in my class.

I'm constantly in trouble, but I refuse to compromise my student's educations to follow lockstep
with the "man's" orders.

My students will be superior to the nation and I teach at an alternative charter school
for troubled kids who turn their lives around and go on to do amazing things.
I will NOT compromise."
