Social media made fun of Melania’s dress last night. Saying it looked like President Trump scribbled on it with a marker. It is a dress designed by Alexander McQueen using sketches drawn by victims of child sexual abuse to describe their feelings. Our First Lady is incredible. @FLOTUS First Lady Melania Trump you truly are an amazing woman thank you for all that you do @thefinalfire [bcolor=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)] [/bcolor] https://twitter.com/21stcenturycrim/status/1279522979039371265/photo/1[/bcolor]
Melania Trump's $2400 'Sharpiegate' inspired dress slammed on social media By Emily Lefroy| 4 hours ago Melania Trump's Fourth of July dress is the talk on Twitter right now but maybe not for the reasons she may have hoped for. The first lady wore an Alexander McQueen dress, which retails at $2,485, as she joined Donald Trump at Mount Rushmore for an Independence Day celebration, where he was delivering a rallying speech in South Dakota. The dress, which was white with black sketches of 'dancing girls' on it, was immediately mocked on social media after Trump wore it, with some people commenting that it looked like 'someone scribbled on it with a Sharpie'. However, Twitter users were less than impressed with the design, many joking that Trump must have gotten to the markers before they left for the event. "Melania pulled a plain white dress for her evening in North Dakota and before they left Trump took a sharpie marker to it" one user tweeted. Others used the dress to remind people of 'Sharpiegate,' an incident in 2019 where President Trump appeared to alter a hurricane map with a sharpie, after he incorrectly stated Alabama was going that was going to be affected by an upcoming storm, altering a map to change the hurricane's track. It's not the first time Melania Trump has been criticised for her choice in outfit, when visiting Grand Teton National Park with her husband last year, the FLOTUS was slammed on Twitter for her choice in shoes, after she wore a suede heeled boot. She was also slammed on social media last year, after the President of the United States shared a photo of them in the September 11 memorial service in 2018. Critics saying the First Lady's custom-made Hervé Pierre coat had a design on the back that looked like the outline of one of the World Trade Centre towers being struck by a plane.
