Sweet Girls ...

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that time should NEVER have erased...

WE ARE A GENERATION...
where many boys, and, where many girls...
were innocent, and, sweet !!!

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that got ourselves out of bed in the morning...
and, brushed our teeth & took a shower !!!

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that walked 2 miles to school...
and, walked 2 miles home !!!

WE ARE A GENERATION....
that rode our bikes downtown almost 15 miles...
and, then came back home, on a subway ticket for 25 cents

WE ARE A GENERATION....
that helped our parents, and, many of us...
did NOT even get any allowances.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that did our homework, at school...
and, then, came home to play outside in the street.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that become street wise...
and, knew, when strangers were lurking.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that NEVER LIVED in a mirror...
NOR on any form of social media.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that NEVER dare to talk back to our elders...
otherwise, our mothers would have rearranged our faces.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that learned to crochet, knit or hook rugs...
made cool vests in home economics classess.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that learned some auto mechanics...
made wood bowls in shop classes.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that grew up playing games...
and, most of us loved a deck of cards, as a gift.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that grew up collecting things...
crystals, rocks and stones.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that grew up cataloging things...
like sports cards, and, statistics.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
THAT WHEN we needed money...
we'd go out and collect pop bottles for 5 cents.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
THAT WHEN we needed money...
We'd go out and collect beer bottles / cans for 5 cents.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
THAT made our own toys...
out of paper / and, paper mache.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that did NOT have pre-recorded records
of 33 and 45 rpm.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that it was a blessing to have a TV
in your house.

WE ARE A GENERATION
that it was a blessing to have a STEREO
in your house.

WE ARE A GENERATION
that created scrapbooks...
and, collected newpaper clippings, photos & ticket stubs.

WE ARE A GENERATION
that grew up loving board games...
snake 'n ladders, monopoly, checkers and chess.

WE ARE A GENERATION,
that remembers, tv went off...
at 11 or 12 midlanight.

WE ARE A GENERATION...
that remembers...
always having one parent, at home.
