    QUESTION:
I notice you always refer to the Moon as he - is there a reason?
I ask as in many other traditions she is known as she?

" Yes... The Neolithic (and we can presume prior to that in the paleolithic) peoples

    addressed the Moon as masculine,

as attested to by the standing stones of Scotland

and the myths/stories of their placement and significance.

The Moon was seen as the bringer of fertility to the lands and people.

One example is at Calanais (Callanish) there is a range of hills to the east
that has the appearance of a woman lying on her back..

Every 19 years the Moon, rising from its northern most nodal extreme,
seems to roll across the landscape from northeast > east > southeast,
staying low to the horizon rather than rising across the sky.

In the Moon's passage it appears, from one stone circle, to briefly set into her head,
    kissing her, as it were.

From another nearby stone circle the Moon briefly passes into her belly,
backlighting a hill in the foreground so that it appears that the woman is pregnant.

The Moon, kissing and awakening the Earth Goddess into fertility
is the basis for the story that is told thusly.

The story, and the name by which the locals have always called this range
    of hills/lying woman? Sleeping Beauty!

The Prince who kisses and awakens Sleeping Beauty is... the Moon.

This is but one example of the pre-Hellenistic peoples holding the Moon as masculine.

it is a an element of the Paleo-Shamanic heritage that I am honored to caretake.
Ellen Paasche... thank you for asking! "
