One Set of Meanings, NOT the one i learned, but here it is:

Did you know the meaning of every pole of the teepee?
(Northern Plains) The teepee becomes a Holy Place, once we understand its meaning and the reason for building it with the Elders...

This is only my own understanding of these meanings, there are many... Some say the meanings are as different as the number of Tribes...
Each pole, that holds up the teepee, stands for something different.

Pole 1: Obedience - a Sacred responsibility,
a Sacred Understanding

Pole 2: Respect- to recognize the Sacred
in Everything around us

Pole 3: Humility - the act of forgetting
one's self for Others

Pole 4: Joy - the Good from within,
our own Well-Being

Pole 5: Love - an expression of ones feelings,
the Sacred Feminine in us All

Pole 6: Faith - our own Sacred Beliefs, our Divine Self

Pole 7: Kinship - a connection by blood,
to never forget the Ties that bind

Pole 8: Cleanliness - the Importance of
Purity and Caring

Pole 9: Appreciation - being Grateful,
the Privilege of Life, the Honor

Pole 10: Strength - the Nation,
the People, the Sacred Culture, Tradition

Pole 11: Good Child Rearing - to learn by Example,
for future Generations

Pole 12: Hope - for a better Tomorrow,
for the Nation, for its People

Pole 13: Ultimate Protection -
Creator's Hand over us, Creator's Sheltering

Pole 14: Control Flaps - to control the wind
