Comet Leonard on December 17, 2021 in Tenerife, Canary Islands archipelago.

A few hours before sunset, the light of the almost full Moon reduced the visibility of the comet,
but pleasantly illuminated the landscape of La Gomera and the famous Canarian pines.

Being located under Venus and with the proximity of h1 Sgr and h2 Sgr, the 4.5 magnitude
Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1) was easily observable with a pair of binoculars.

Technical details: Sony a7s3 modified Astrodon - Nikkor 105mm/1.4 - 1s - 400 ISO - f/2 - 20 pictures stacked with Starry Landscape Stacker - crop Nikon D810A - Nikkor 200mm/2 - 1s - 800 ISO - f/2 - 30 pictures stacked with SLS

Thanks to Lukas Demetz ho potuto elaborare una foto della cometa C/2021 A1 Leonard yesterday 21/12/2021
at 19:19 TU always from Namibia with the Sky Gems system.

The queue seems incredible, but in the few minutes between one color and the other it moves
and being able to align them is an effort, but from the result I would say it's good.

Instrumentation RH200 ccd QHY600 in bin 2 RGB=3x90s L=11x90s , field 175'x110'​

"COMET LEONARD IS JUST TOO BIG: Close your eye and picture the Big Dipper. Comet Leonard's tail is so long, you can't even fit half of it in the asterism's bowl. "Comet Leonard has at least a twenty degree-long tail," reports Daniele Gasparri, who sends this picture from Chile's Atacama desert."

Deep image of the X-mas comet known as COMET LEONARD.

Last night comet Leonard was easily to see over the Atlantic Ocean.

From the beach I could even see a part of the beautiful tail.

Tonight’s capture on 23 DEC 2021

COMET LEONARD APPROACHING SOLAR CONTACT
Comets have been considered harbingers of change since the beginning of time.
Recently discovered comet Leonard is joining the synchronization between cycles
with a spectacular closest approach to the Sun.

SOLAR WIND BROKE COMET LEONARD'S TAIL: Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1)
is less than a week away from its closest approach to the sun--and it's feeling the heat.

Astronomers have observed multiple outbursts from the comet's core as well as a dramatic "disconnection event."
Solar wind gusts have actually broken the comet's tail into pieces.

Some of these events are visible to the naked eye for sky watchers in the southern hemisphere.
