Jun Ajpu became the Sun and Ixb´alamke became the Moon.

It means the darkest time of night and the first ray of sunlight.

The duality of this sign is apparent but not extreme.

Who can say exactly when night ends and day begins?

There is always a little light at night and a little darkness during the day.

In the Popol Vuh, the Earth was blanketed in fog and mud after a great cataclysm
twelve thousand years ago.

The four B´alam performed various ceremonies to clear the air and get the sun to shine

These ceremonies were held on Mount Waq´xaqi Aq´ab´al, also known as Hacavitz,
and each Man-God brought his own incense as an offering.

It was the first tribute to the Great Spirit, and they watched the Sun come out.

Maq´uq´, the quetzal, was the first bird to sing.

All of the people and animals bowed down to give thanks for this new dawn,
this new chance of life, this regeneration of creation.

Aq´ab´al is the renewing force, a break from the routine, from monotony;
it represents letting go of the reins and heading in a new direction.

All of us undergo chronological, cyclical, and individual changes in our lives
that alter or transform our destiny.

Aq´ab´al is good, strong, sacred day for ceremonies to ask Ajaw, the Great Father,
for humility, blessings, and pardon for our errors, whether conscious or unconscious.

to ask for fresh opportunities, to renew our life, to achieve clarity,
to bring light into the darkness, and to reveal mysteries.

The Trecena of Transformation - Kame ~ Death ~ Cimi
November 7th to 19th, 2014

Surrender, Forgiveness, Discipline, Fortitude, Self-actualization, Empowers staying in the moment.
Every transformation offers us another beginning another step up the pyramid to our Soul’s True Destiny.

The Maya celebrated Kame as a day of transformation rather than a day of death. In the Popol Vuh,
the Hero Twins defeat the Lords of Death in a ballgame which takes place in the Underworld.

The Twins are ordered by the Lords of Death to perform many tasks.

They are tricked by the Lords and lose their lives, only to be reborn by transforming themselves.

Thus the Maya celebrated this day as a lucky day of wisely transforming.

Seeking wisdom and guidance from the Ancestors was at the heart of Mayan ritual practice.

According to Kenneth Johnson in Jaguar Wisdom, “In the day-sign Death, we become one
with those who went before us, and we partake of their wisdom. In the human body,
Kame is associated with the crown chakra, the sacred center through which solar enlightenment
and ancestral wisdom may best enter into our own consciousness.

Hence, this day-sign bestows upon us the ancestral wisdom that guides us through all our transformations.”

The energy of transformation on all levels, from the physical cellular level to the spiritual co-creative level, propels us to be aware of all possibilities in each moment of creation.

We are now ready to exercise a choice: to move into a vibration of listening to our intuition

When the conquistadors arrived with horses, the indigenous people called that animal

through physical existence: Releb´al Q´ij (sunrise, the East); Ruqajib´al Q´ij (sunset, the West);

These are the forces and powers that fuel human destiny.

Kej represents harmony. It has one foot in each of the four cardinal points
and therefore the four basic elements.
